A great place to regenerate after a long walk with a hearty meal and also just like that to enjoy nature with a coffee and homemade cake! Both the place and the owners are quaint, cozy and friendly. A large selection of dishes, for big and small hunger, from meat-heavy and vegetarian everything there. Highly recommended and, should we be around again, we will definitely come back !!

Very beautiful there

super delicious bratwurst. the host seems a bit grumpy at first, but is a very humorous, sociable guy. he knows a lot about gastronomy. we just wanted to take a short break, but it turned into a somewhat longer stop and that was because we were allowed to taste different dishes. I've never seen anything like it before. if my path leads me close I will definitely come back there.

A visit is recommended. Whether on a hike, by bike or by car, the guests who visit this idyllic basalt lake are diverse. We would love to come back.

The hut is simply quaint, like the landlord with a nice atmosphere and good food.

Unfortunately, the basalt lake is no longer recommended. The continuously running diesel generator stinks terribly and is unbearably loud. What a pity. Such a beautiful place in the middle of the nature reserve area destroyed.

Unfortunately, the kiosk is no longer so beautiful. The new diesel generator is terribly loud and stinks. And the landlord is quite rude. Hence only one star. We hope that something changes for the better.

Typical food stall. Nothing special. But hikers can eat snacks and refresh themselves with drinks. Self-service.

Very nice people, the coffee still has some catching up to do

Rustic hiker hut with a hearty Franconian hutkeeper. We arrived on a rainy morning and were able to fortify ourselves with homemade Apfelploatz and some drinks. Meanwhile, we were introduced to the history of the basalt lake. A great original!
